Meet your Attorney
Elizabeth Knowles is an immigration and human rights attorney with over 14 years of experience helping people navigate our complex immigration system and find lasting relief in the United States. Elizabeth's expertise is in asylum law and removal defense, and her practice has centered on unaccompanied children and detained adults fleeing persecution. Attorney Knowles has practiced in both private and non-profit settings, previously serving as director of the ABA Immigration Justice Project in San Diego, California, and creating and directing immigration removal defense clinics at Thomas Jefferson School of Law and the University of Akron School of Law, where she taught law students how to represent detained non-citizens and successfully sought asylum and bond release for numerous individuals in immigration court. During law school, she interned with the California Innocence Project and the U. S. Department of Justice, San Diego Executive Office for Immigration Review. Knowles has extensive trial experience and regularly represents clients in immigration court nationwide, before the Board of Immigration Appeals, and before the U.S. Courts of Appeals. She is a full-time law professor at Northeastern University School of Law.
